Pompano Beach Flying Club is a non-profit organization based in South Florida at Pompano Beach Airport (KPMP).
Counting on 300 days a year of good weather, three runways, a towered airport, low traffic density, all at a short one hour flight from the Bahamas.
Pilots must have at least a private pilot certificate to join. Members can earn additional ratings such as instrument, and commercial, all the way through CFI certification.
Since 1970, the Pompano Beach Flying Club (originally known as the Pompano Senior Squadron Flying Club) has been giving pilots across South Florida a place to fly, learn, and belong.
Our mission has always been to provide members with safe, well-maintained, and well-equipped aircraft at the lowest possible cost, while fostering a true community of aviators who share a passion for flight.
As a non-profit organization, our members are more than just pilots, they are the shareholders, caretakers, and driving force behind the club’s continued success.
The PBFC is about much more than just affordable flying. It’s about being part of a group of aviators who support each other, share knowledge, and all work together to make the club better.

THE ATMOSPHERE
Aviation is more than just renting a plane. Whether you’re considering your first lesson, or you’re a lifelong pilot, aviation is best when it’s shared with others! Our membership includes university students, professionals, hobbyists and people who just love flight. Our club is a perfect fit for individuals who want the social experience that goes along with flying and understand that club membership comes with the responsibility to participate and contribute.
THE INSTRUCTION
The instructors who teach with us are independent contractors, with many interesting backgrounds. You may see them around the hangars, and you’ll learn something new with every conversation.
THE INSURANCE
Unlike typical rental situations, as a member of the club, you are a named-insured on the club’s insurance policy. Members receive protections unavailable to most renters, including better liability coverage and protection from subrogation. We strongly encourage all members to carry their own non-owned aircraft insurance as well.
